MU sophomore Paul Miltenberger was [killed in a hit and run in Dallas](http://crimeblog.dallasnews.com/2015/04/pedestrian-killed-in-hit-and-run-accident-near-mockingbird-station.html/) on Sunday morning.
Sam Gerlach, president of MU’s Beta Theta Pi chapter, said there will be a vigil held in memory of Miltenberger at 8 p.m. tonight at the chapter’s house.
“Paul … is one of the greatest men any of us have ever known,” Gerlach said in an email. “He was kind, compassionate and always full of laughter. It wasn’t uncommon for Paul to take time out of his day if someone was feeling down, and cheer them up, a skill few young men are capable of.
“Paul will be missed dearly by all who knew him,” Gerlach added.
Miltenberger was crossing East Mockingbird Lane at a non-crosswalk area when he got hit by a black Dodge Charger, according to Dallas Police. He died on the scene. The police do not have a suspect description.
Miltenberger, who was from Southlake, Texas, according to his Facebook profile, was studying marketing at MU. He was also a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity.
On Easter, when the Miltenberger died, multiple Greek chapters, the Panhellenic Association and the Interfraternity Council tweeted their condolences to Beta Theta Pi.
Prayers going up for the men of @Beta_Missouri from everyone in the IFC and Mizzou community today. So sorry for your loss.
