Missouri Students Association Vice President Brenda Smith-Lezama was arrested at 2:38 a.m. April 10 on East Campus.
The MU Police Department is listed as the arresting agency. The bond was set at $150, MUPD spokesman Capt. Brian Weimer said.
Smith-Lezama was released at 3:23 a.m., according to the Boone County Sheriff’s Department.
Smith-Lezama had a warrant issued in connection to an unpaid speeding ticket in Pulaski County, Missouri.
Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department was unable to disclose any additional information about the speeding ticket at this time.
Smith-Lezama issued a statement via Twitter around 9 p.m. April 11.

MSA President Payton Head was unavailable for comment but retweeted Smith-Lezama’s statement from his official account.
The official MSA Twitter (@MSAmizzou) also tweeted the statement and said: “As an association we support @MSAVeep during this time. We do not have any further comments to make on the topic.”
