At approximately 1:18 a.m. April 18, MUPD received a report of sex offenses that took place on MU’s campus. MUPD sent out a clery release at 10:07 a.m., and an update at 6:35 p.m. to notify students.
At around 12:30 a.m. Saturday, two female victims said men approached them, grabbed them and tried to kiss them, according to the release. More men ran across the street to join. The female victims were groped, until the suspects saw a police vehicle. They than ran from the scene.
After seeing the original clery release, a female who asked to remain anonymous reported she and a group of friends were assaulted by a similar group of individuals at around 11:30 p.m. Friday on Rollins Street between the Student Recreation Center and Student Center.
“We’ve alerted the City of Columbia Police Department and they’re looking for these individuals,” Weimer said. “We’re also checking if they had any similar reports. All our security officers are notified.”
Weimer said there is no description of the suspects at this time.
