Members of the MU Greek community packed Traditions Plaza on Sunday night as the 2015 MU Homecoming Steering Committee announced the winners of this year’s Greek Homecoming at 8 p.m.
Alpha Delta Pi, Alpha Gamma Rho and Delta Kappa Epsilon came out on top, followed by Alpha Chi Omega, Delta Chi and Tau Kappa Epsilon. Kappa Delta, one of the only sororities in MU history to compete at Homecoming alone, received third place. Kappa Kappa Gamma and Theta Chi placed fourth, and Chi Omega and FarmHouse placed fifth.
The winning group placed first in the individual categories of House Decorations, Service and Traditions. The second- and third-place groups also tied for first in Traditions, and the third and fourth-place groups also tied for first in Service.
Although Zeta Tau Alpha and Phi Gamma Delta did not place overall, they won the Talent category for performing the best skit. Kappa Alpha Theta, Alpha Epsilon Pi and Alpha Kappa Lambda won first place for the Parade and for decorating downtown. All three categories were won without ties.
The Gaines/Oldham Black Culture Center won Best Student Organization, and Schurz Hall won Best Residence Hall.
