It’s finally that time of year when we can tuck away our sandals and pull out our booties.
Booties come in handy in almost every situation I find myself in, whether it is a dressier event or something as simple as catching lunch with a friend. My go-to pair for any occasion are my leather cut-out Steve Madden ankle boots.
Finding the perfect bootie can be a daunting task — there are many types of booties out there in the world, and each style can reflect a different personality.
For someone wanting an edgy look, I recommend leather, cutouts or buckles. I would pair these shoes with a leather jacket, a skinny leg jumpsuit and a transparent clutch for a night out with the girls.
Next, I want to focus on the girly look. For fall, the girly-girl will probably be caught in a cute long-sleeve skater dress, a pair of tights and an infinity scarf. To add to this look, I recommend a simple pair of low-heeled suede booties. To add a little _oomph_, try a suede bootie with fringe on the back for a different take on this classic fall texture.
Last, for a more classic style, I suggest a low-ankle bootie that is cut out on both sides. They usually come in either leather or suede, and choosing the right texture depends on the look. For a nice exploring-the-city outfit, pair the booties with a pair of cuffed dark denim jeans, a long-sleeved thin-striped shirt, a pastel peacoat (yes, you can wear pastels in the fall) and a simple pendant.
Booties will always be a fall essential, no matter what style they are paired with.
