Missouri defensive lineman Terry Beckner was arrested and released at a traffic stop Wednesday night, according to the MU police blotter.
He has since been suspended indefinitely and will face disciplinary measures, coach Barry Odom said in a statement.
“I’m disappointed to learn of Terry’s actions,” Odom said in the statement. “We take this very seriously and in line with our department policies. Terry has been indefinitely suspended and will face team disciplinary measures. I don’t want this incident to be viewed as a representation of our athletic department or football program, but we certainly understand the impact one poor decision can have. While this behavior is not acceptable, this is a very challenging societal issue that is dealt with everywhere on a daily basis, and we will use this as a learning opportunity for Terry and our program.”
Per the blotter, Beckner was pulled over at 9:48 p.m. at 404 Kentucky Blvd., which is South Residence Hall.
According to the police report, Beckner had “35 grams of marijuana or less” in his possession at the time of his arrest. This amount in possession is in violation of Columbia ordinance 16-253.
Beckner has been rehabbing from an ACL tear that happened against BYU on Nov. 14.
