Missouri Athletics Director Mack Rhoades and coach Barry Odom announced that quarterback Maty Mauk has been indefinitely suspended.
Mauk’s suspension comes after a video surfaced on Twitter at 8:56 p.m Monday. The video shows who appears to be Mauk participating in drug-related activities.
Shortly after the video surfaced, Rhoades and Odom announced the indefinite suspension and gave the following statement: “We are currently gathering information regarding the video in question. This is an issue we take very seriously and one that will not be tolerated within our program. We will take appropriate action once we have all the facts. In the interim, Maty Mauk has been indefinitely suspended from the Mizzou football program.”
On Nov. 1, 2015, the senior quarterback was suspended for the remainder of the 2015 season by Missouri for “disciplinary reasons.” Earlier in 2015, on Sep. 29, Mauk had been suspended for violating program policy.
On Dec. 23, ahead of the Illinois Braggin’ Rights basketball game, Odom confirmed that Mauk would be reinstated.
“I believe in guys having opportunities and chances,” Odom said after Mauk’s reinstatement.
