MU community members are publicly supporting assistant professor of communications Melissa Click on Twitter following her suspension from the university announced Jan. 27.
A video showing the communications professor calling for “some muscle” has garnered almost 400,000 views online. In the video, Click attempted to remove photographer Tim Tai and freelance photographer Mark Schierbecker from the Concerned Student 1950 campsite.
On Twitter, support for Click surfaced with #StandWithMelissaClick.
On Jan. 25, Click was charged with third-degree assault by Columbia city prosecutor Steve Richey for the incident. If found guilty, Click could face up to 15 days in jail and up to a $300 fine.
Just days after being charged, the UM System Board of Curators announced that [Click was suspended](https://www.themaneater.com/stories/2016/1/27/melissa-click-suspended-um-system-board-curators-p/) from her position until the investigation is concluded.
