The temperature’s rising, and it looks like it’s going to keep going up.
With my warm weather clothes currently stuck at home, I’ve been struggling to dress for the heat the past few days. I won’t have access to any of it until after spring break, so recently I’ve had to get creative with what I’m wearing to make sure I don’t overheat in the classrooms and freeze in the morning.
Here are some suggestions to work with your winter wardrobe for the next week:
**Skirts and Sweaters**
The perfect combination. A sweater will keep your top half warm, while a skirt will let your legs breathe for once. After all those dark winter months squeezed into skinny jeans, your legs deserve a break. This outfit will definitely have you prepared for any kind of weather changes throughout the day.
**Cuffed Jeans and T-Shirt**
Cuffed jeans are like capris’ cuter, more popular and successful cousin. Pair them with a T-shirt that you’ve been throwing on under a cardigan during the past few months and you have a great casual outfit to wear in this new sunny weather.
**Makeshift Crop Top**
Remember how you used to tie off large t-shirts with a rubber band in middle school? It’s kind of like that, but less tacky. If you tie off the excess fabric and tuck the shirt in just right, it will look totally normal. This is a great idea if you are always tempted to strip when it gets hot in a classroom but social conventions tell you not to; it’s a great compromise.
**Sunglasses**
Throw a pair on and you are already significantly cooler. Some people say it’s all about the mindset you’re in. If you think you’re cool (physically or personality-wise), then your brain could convince itself it’s right. It’s worth a shot.
