Lips and Curls salon will be hosting its first Spring Affair Ladies Tea Party on March 20. The event was planned to celebrate the change of seasons by welcoming guests on the first day of spring with a light luncheon, a hair accessory presentation by owner Heather Garcia and a cocktail social at The Social Room. The event will close with a swing dancing lesson presented by Mizzou Swing Society.
Finger foods will be provided by Peachtree Catering, and will likely include different tea choices and cucumber sandwiches, Garcia says. Guests can also enjoy bottomless mimosas during the cocktail hour and a short “How To” for creating a hair flower accessory.
“Spring is one of my favorite times of the year,” Garcia says. “So we’re celebrating the birds coming out, the flowers and just things coming back to life again.”
Lips and Curls and their friends at Absolute Vintage have gone all out in preparing for the event, and are encouraging guests to “dress the part.” Floral dresses, long gloves and big hats are all part of the mix.
“She has some amazing pieces in her store,” Garcia says. “The owner is absolutely fantastic and very helpful. They would definitely be great to help people find an outfit.”
Lips and Curls has put together decorations for the event, including a “Spring Garden” on the patio where guests will be able to get their picture taken before leaving the party.
Garcia hopes to turn the party into a quarterly affair in order to usher in each new season. Plans have already been put into action for the summer event, which will likely center on a luau theme.
The tea party will take place on Sunday, March 20 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are still available [here](https://holdmyticket.com/#tickets/239897).
