####Movie
[“10 Cloverfield Lane”](http://move.themaneater.com/stories/2016/3/13/review-10-cloverfield-lane-flirts-sci-fi/#.VutHOpMrK3U) is about a girl, Michelle (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), who gets in a car crash and wakes up in an underground bunker. The man who put her there, John Goodman’s terrifying but somewhat sympathetic character Howard, attempts to convince Michelle that the air outside the bunker is deadly due to an attack, and by keeping her in the bunker, he is saving her life. “10 Cloverfield Lane” is suspenseful because you don’t know if Howard is telling the truth, and the mystery certainly drives the movie. The film has strange but exciting twists that make it great.

####Show to binge
“Cuckoo” is an absolutely wonderful Netflix original starring Andy Samberg as a psychedelic hippie who marries a British exchange student while living in Thailand. Samberg (whose name is Cuckoo in the TV show) and his wife, Rachel, move in with her parents and hilarity ensues. Cuckoo buys a truck to sell potatoes out of while spreading his life values and he and Rachel’s father accidentally take molly together. The first season is charmingly funny, hopelessly endearing and has an all-around solid plot line.
That is, until season two. Samberg has to leave to film Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and Rachel is replaced with an entirely different actress. In Cuckoo’s place? Taylor Lautner. Yeah.
Watch and fall in love with season one of “Cuckoo,” then never EVER subject yourself to the disasters that are the subsequent seasons.

####Song
Feeling nostalgic for the [“Beverly Hills”](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HL_WvOly7mY) era of your childhood? We sure are. Not to fear, though, Weezer is coming out with a new album (self titled “White Album”) on April 1. They dropped a new single last week, and the music video features the kids from [“Damn, Daniel”](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a16Kgh7j8zk) at the end. It’s a great song and the music video is just weird enough. Nothing will live up to “Blue Album,” but Weezer’s latest still seems to be shaping up to be pretty darn great.

####Novel
If you’re looking for a hard-hitting and brilliant book, “The Abramson Effect” is a great choice. The short novel centers around Jill Abramson, who was The New York Times executive editor from 2011 to 2014. Abramson was the first female executive for the paper, so her firing was a big deal. The book looks into the “glass cliff,” the idea that women are put in leadership positions during riskier situations so that they are more likely to fail. Whether you agree with her point of view or not, the book is well-written and presents a perspective that includes other big-name fired women like Carly Fiorina and Meg Whitman. The book is short, but it packs a punch and is definitely worth a read.
####Wine and recipe pairing:
A red [Pinot Noir](https://www.marketviewliquor.com/product/la-crema-sonoma-coast-pinot-noir-750-ml.html?vfsku=7062&vfsku=7062&gpla=pla&gclid=CLTgtcDExssCFYU2aQodgB8K6A) with a [creamy brie mac and cheese](http://www.halfbakedharvest.com/creamy-brie-four-cheese-mac-cheese-buttery-ritz-crackers/) will turn any casual pasta dinner into an event. The macaroni is topped with crushed Ritz crackers, which add a nice salty flavor. Plus, the stronger, earthier flavor of the wine will bring out the light cheese flavor in the mac and cheese.
####Friday event:
“Creed” is a Rocky spin-off/sequel featuring Sylvester Stallone as Rocky (of course) and Michael B. Jordan as Adonis Johnson Creed, son of Rocky’s former rival/friend. Rocky mentors Creed as he attempts to live up his father’s legacy.
MSA/GPC is showing the film for $1 at 9:30 p.m. Friday in Wrench Auditorium.

####Saturday event:
Good Nature, which is downtown at 910 Alley A, is hosting the March Full Moon/Spring Equinox Psychic Fair this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Psychic readers will be doing Tarot, Runes, Ogham, Palmistry, Aura Pictures and a bunch of other “magick” events. I’m personally hoping it’ll be a lot like Professor Trelawney’s prediction from “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban,” but we’ll see. Plus, the weather is supposed to be sunny and about 50 degrees, so it looks like we’re in for a great time.
