After day two of the women’s NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships in Atlanta, the Missouri Tigers sit in 14th place with 40 points. Two Missouri relays earned All-America honors.
In the first race of the day, the 200-yard freestyle relay team of Anna Patterson, Hannah Stevens, Maddie Gehrke and Rachel Hayden finished in 10th place with a time of 1:28.87. The team’s morning time of 1:28.85 was second in the team record books. The 10th place finish was good enough for Honorable Mention All-America honors.
The Tigers placed sixth in the 400-yard medley relay with a school-record time of 3:29.70, earning All-America honors. The team consisted of Nadine Laemmler, Abby Duncan, Patterson and Stevens. In the backstroke leg of the relay, Laemmler set a new team record in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 51.75 seconds.
The Tigers witnessed American history at the meet. In the 200-yard individual medley, Stanford’s Ella Eastin set a national record with a time of 1:51.65.
The Tigers are back in action at 9 a.m. tomorrow.
