Usually during this time of year, most spring breakers are participating in activities that capture our inner kid at heart. This could be making a sand castle, a quality board game night with the fam or vegging out and watching your favorite childhood movies.
If you’re anything like me, you’re OK with sitting in a dark room tucked under the covers while you watch a dimly lit screen in front of you surrounded by the ones you love the most.
These days, the streaming options are endless, which makes the process of choosing a film more difficult.
Thankfully, MOVE racked up a list of Netflix’s best childhood movies to please everyone and keep the sibling bickering to a minimum.
####Cheetah Girls (2003)
2003?! That long ago?
This Disney Channel original movie is right up there with “High School Musical” in the quality Disney Channel movies department.
The outfits, songs and continuous message of girl power make you want to go out and buy your own cheetah print velour tracksuit.

####Chicken Run (2000)
If you haven’t seen this claymation masterpiece, please go log into Netflix immediately.
Claymation films are filmed using stop-motion photography to create a lifelike look with clay or Plasticine figures. These movies can take years to make; after all, “Chicken Run” was in production for 18 months.
This childhood classic is the story of a group of chickens trying to escape a farm (by flying) with the help of a good-looking rooster named Rocky. The group must fight the evil farmer who attempts to keep them captive.
It’s a must see for all lovers of chicken, claymation and classics.
####Tarzan (1999)
First off, let’s give a round of applause to Phil Collins for his Oscar-winning song, “You’ll Be In My Heart.”

Aside from the beauty that is the “Tarzan” soundtrack, this Disney animation film gives us one of the first real glimpses of a deep Disney male character.
We see Tarzan struggle in the film with an inner source of conflict compared to the usual outside source of the more vapid movies that came before. Critics can argue that Clayton, the ape hunter, was the antagonist of the film, but the real problem was Tarzan struggling to choose an identity between two worlds.
This Disney classic is great for audiences who want to branch outside the usual cookie-cutter Disney box.
####Lilo & Stitch (2002)
Damn Disney, back at it again with the killer soundtracks. This Disney animated classic soundtrack is filled with essences of Elvis Presley which create the perfect background sound for the Hawaiian setting.
It’s hard to choose a certain pinpoint on why this film is such a classic. From the movie’s location to the ideology of having an alien as a pet, and its ongoing message of family over everything, the movie is one of Disney’s best.
“Lilo & Stitch” is the perfect movie for a family movie night and will have you saying, “Ohana means family. Family means no one gets left behind,” long after the film is over.
####Scooby-Doo (2002)
First, let me clarify that this is the live-action “Scooby-Doo,” which is equally as great as the animated “Scooby-Doo” (despite some people’s distaste).
I don’t understand why this film gets such a bad rep, really. It has the great qualities of the animated series but the cast brings it up to more present day. As a kid, I thought this film was terrifying due to the fact that like half of the characters seemed to need an exorcism, but regardless, it’s a great film.
Also, how cute is it that the actors who played Fred and Daphne are married in real life? #goals.
