Jim Sterk is expected to become Missouri’s next athletics director, per multiple reports on Monday.
Sterk, who has been athletics director at San Diego State since 2010, was named the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics’ athletics director of the year in 2015.
This comes nearly a month after former Missouri athletics director Mack Rhoades left Missouri for the same job at Baylor on July 13. That move left the athletics mantle to three interims — Wren Baker, who left for the athletics director job at North Texas, interim chancellor Hank Foley and, most recently, Sarah Reesman.
Prior to working at San Diego State, Sterk was the athletic director for 10 years at Washington State and for five years at Portland State prior to that.
