This week, the bands are personal. (To me, at least.)
####The lowdown
On Sept. 24, The Mowgli’s are coming to The Blue Note with Dreamers and Colony House. The Saturday night show opens its doors at 8 p.m., but the show starts at 9 p.m., so don’t worry about missing Family Weekend. There’s even time to go to the football game first, so you can still catch the show if you’re not already exhausted from cheering for hours.
####The bands
The Mowgli’s are an almost-folksy alternative band with great lyrics and personality. The Los Angeles native band has had a number of members over the years, but there are currently six. One of the cool things about them is their social availability. Their Twitter, @Themowglis, occasionally tweets out funny pictures, and the band members regularly update twitter with hilarious content.

Colony House, previously known as Caleb, is made up of four friends who all lived in an apartment complex named Colony House in Tennessee. A self-proclaimed alternative rock band, Colony House is releasing a new album in mid-January.
The other opener, Dreamers, is also out of LA. They just released a new album titled This Album Does Not Exist.
Each band has a common love for their fans and the music. They are the reason I love alternative music.
####Noteworthy tunes
by The Mowgli’s
If I could list every song The Mowgli’s have ever produced, I would. The lyrics to this song in particular are happy, energizing and fun. It’s popular for a reason.
**_I’m Good_** by The Mowgli’s
I can picture the first time I heard this song on the radio at home in Kansas City on 96.5 The Buzz. I was driving home late at night and subsequently looked it up on YouTube and played it for days afterwards. I love the way this song makes you feel like you’re at the lake.
**_Keep On Keeping On_** by Colony House
The ultimate song to encourage someone to have a little faith may or may not be by Colony House. Just saying.
**_Sweet Disasters_** by Dreamers
I couldn’t tell you if this song is a love song or a break-up song, and that’s the intent. Dreamers really nailed it with this song from their newest album.
####If you like this, try…
**_Hands Down_ by The Greeting Committee**
This song never fails to get me to sing along, no matter who else is around. It has a similar sound to that of The Mowgli’s, and I shamelessly love to promote it. They did a house show a few weeks ago only a few minutes from my parents’ house in Lake Winnebago, and I almost drove from Columbia to go.
**_Some Nights (intro)_** by Fun.
The first song on their album _Some Nights_ gives a good look into the personality of this _fun_ band. Because I have a connection to most of the songs already mentioned, I figured I should wrap it up with another one of my favorites. This band and their albums (old and new) are a great listen for The Mowgli’s fans.
