Mizzou women’s golf finished ninth in its fourth and final tournament of the fall 2016 season Tuesday evening at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown. The Tigers shot -4 as a team in the tournament, which was hosted by UNLV at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Las Vegas.
The tournament was scheduled to be played from Sunday through Tuesday. However, inclement weather forced an abbreviated 36-hole tournament with the final round taking place Tuesday afternoon.
Freshman Jessica Yuen impressed for the Tigers, firing an opening round 70 and following it up with a round of 69, leading the Tigers with a -5 performance. She finished tied for 10th, recording her second top-10 performance of the season.
Emma Allen also joined Yuen with a performance under par, finishing at -1 for the tournaments. Her outing placed her 36th on the individual leaderboard.
Clara Young recorded a round of 70 in the second round, a season best for the junior. Marit Harryvan also recorded a second round 70.
Amanda Kim fired an opening round of 72, while Cayce Hendrickson recorded a second round of 73.
Baylor won the tournament, recording a team score of -25. Individually, Baylor’s Amy Lee finished first individually with a overall tournament of -9.
For the tournament as a whole, Mizzou recorded a total of 14 birdies and a tournament-leading 65 pars. Yuen shot -2 on par four holes throughout the tournament, while Harryvan posted a team-best -3 score on par five holes.
The tournament wraps up a fall 2016 season that saw the Tigers grab a home tournament victory to go with two top-10 finishes. Mizzou isn’t set to play again until Feb. 10 at the Florida State Matchup in Tallahassee, Florida.
