
The Missouri Volleyball team came into Sunday’s matchup on a winning streak, having won their last twelve matches. During Homecoming week, the Tigers took on ranked opponent No. 21 Kentucky Wildcats at Hearnes Center. The last time the Tigers faced off against a ranked opponent, they lost to No. 10 BYU in three sets in the Idaho State Invitational.
Missouri won the first two sets 25-21 and 28-26. The Wildcats came back with a fierce attack and won the third and fourth sets 25-16 and 25-22, respectively. Senior outside hitter Carly Kan led the way for Missouri as she registered a double double with 17 kills and 17 digs.
Senior middle blocker Emily Thater also contributed with 14 kills of her own.
The Tigers would come back in the fifth set 15-12 and take over to win the match 3-2. With the win, Missouri has a thirteen-game winning streak, including nine consecutive conference match-ups. Up next for the Tigers is a trip down to College Station where they will face-off against the Texas A&M Aggies on Wednesday, Oct. 26.
