Missouri softball was unable to play the three remaining games of the Littlewood Classic in Tempe, Arizona, this weekend after the remainder of the tournament was canceled due to poor weather conditions. The Saturday doubleheader against Illinois State and Wichita State, along with Sunday’s matchup against No. 21 Arizona State, were all canceled.
The matchup with Arizona State would have given the Tigers a chance to play against their third ranked opponent of the season. None of the canceled games are set to be rescheduled.
Missouri went 1-1 in its two games on Friday, defeating South Dakota and falling to Illinois State. The Tigers are 5-2 now, and this week they’ll head to the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic in Cathedral City, California.
The Tigers play twice this Thursday, first at 8 p.m. against Notre Dame and then at 10:30 p.m. against Texas. Friday provides a marquee matchup, with the Tigers squaring off against No. 8 Washington. Missouri will then finish off the weekend with another doubleheader Saturday against Nebraska and UC Santa Barbara.
It will be Missouri’s final tournament before returning home on March 3 for the Mizzou Tournament, which is currently set to be played at the new Mizzou softball stadium.
