Missouri men’s basketball freshman guard Blake Harris announced on Friday morning that he will transfer from the program, as first reported by ESPN’s Jeff Goodman.
“Blake Harris has decided to transfer from the Mizzou Men’s Basketball program,” Tigers coach Cuonzo Martin said in a Mizzou Athletics statement. “We will support and assist him in any way possible.”

Harris, in his first and only season with the program, played in 14 games, averaging 3.8 points per game to go with 3.1 assists while averaging 14 minutes per outing.
Harris was the nation’s No. 120 prospect in the 2017 class according to 247Sports.com. Coming from Word of God Christian Academy in Raleigh, North Carolina, he originally committed to Washington but decided to follow fellow freshman Michael Porter Jr. and flip to Missouri after the Huskies fired head coach Lorenzo Romar in March.
Harris picked Mizzou over Michigan State, Connecticut, North Carolina State and Rutgers.
“It was the best decision for me and my family to leave this program,” Harris told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. “I’m not going to say anything’s wrong with the program. I just think I can thrive and do better things at a different place.”
Junior guards Jordan Geist and Terrence Phillips figure to see more playing time with Harris’ departure. Fellow freshman guard CJ Roberts also announced on Wednesday his intentions to transfer to Texas Tech after redshirting his first semester at Missouri.
