Missouri opened the SEC Media Days by releasing their two-deep preseason depth chart on Monday morning.
There were few changes from the spring depth chart, but sophomore Larry Rountree III was listed with junior Damarea Crockett as the starting options for tailback.
Crockett was the starter at the beginning of the season but went down with a shoulder injury against Georgia.
Rountree had 709 yards and six touchdowns in his freshman season and transitioned to a change-of-pace option behind now-graduated Ish Witter to finish last season with five touchdowns in his last five games and ended the year as an All-SEC Freshman team selection.
The split at tailback likely means a decreased workload for Crockett to begin the year as he recovers from his shoulder injury before the two battle for carries toward the end of the year.
The wide receiver depth chart was unchanged from the spring and kept seniors Nate Brown and Emanuel Hall as starters alongside redshirt junior Johnathon Johnson.
Redshirt junior Richaud Floyd was listed as a backup and could also be a factor in the passing game for Missouri. Freshman Dominic Gicinto was also listed as a backup. The receiver from Raytown, Missouri enrolled early in the spring semester and could find a role as a slot receiver with his speed and quickness.
The secondary will be filled with youth with safety Cam Hilton as the only senior listed as a top-two option in the secondary.
Sophomore Adam Sparks is listed as a starter alongside junior DeMarkus Acy at corner while sophomore Joshuah Bledsoe is listed as the other starter at safety.
The future at quarterback after Drew Lock leaves also took a slight turn with last year’s backup redshirt sophomore Micah Wilson being left off the depth chart. Wilson played sparingly behind Lock in mop up duty last season.
The two backups listed were junior college transfer and redshirt sophomore Lindsey Scott Jr. with junior Jack Lowary. Scott won the NJCAA title with East Missisippi CC last year and has been the big riser this fall after being listed fifth in the spring depth chart and looks to compete with Lowary and Wilson for next year’s snaps at quarterback.
