There are times where you may be too tired and just don’t want to cook or you are way too sick of dining hall food. This is when fast food is at its most tempting and MU’s campus seems to be surrounded by it.
Fast food seems to be an essential part within the college diet, and there are a few restaurants that every campus should have.
####1.Insomnia Cookies####
Insomnia Cookies is a cookie shop that is open until 3 a.m. where students can go and get freshly-baked, warm cookies. These cookies can also be delivered to your door. Insomnia offers a wide range of flavors including chocolate chip, peanut butter and snickerdoodle. You can also get milk or ice cream with your order. They offer different types of cookie desserts too, such as cookie cakes, cookie sandwiches and brownies.
####2. Hot Box Cookies####
Hot Box Cookies has a similar concept to Insomnia Cookies. They are also a cookie shop that is open until 2 a.m. Here you will find fresh baked cookies that students can order in shop, or can have delivered. They have many flavors including red velvet, peanut butter and cookies and creme. They also branch out and offer several other cookie desserts and several beverages. A lot of times, events on campus will cater both Hot Box or Insomnia for free cookies to pass out to students.
####3. Taco Bell####
Taco Bell seems to be a pretty common restaurant around campus. With its late hours and dollar cravings menu, it sounds like every student’s dream. Taco Bell offers many deals in order to make their food affordable, and they are open until 4 a.m. Sophomore Zac Aron enjoys Taco Bell, and states that it is one of his favorite places to eat on campus.
“It’s very easy to get to; it’s not very far off,” Aron said. “It’s a nice place to go and hangout with friends, do some homework [and] they have free wifi.”
####4. Pickleman’s####
Pickleman’s is a gourmet sandwich shop that originated right here in Columbia. They make fresh, toasted sandwiches and also offer thin crust pizzas and fresh baked cookies. It’s a great place to grab lunch when needed or if you are up late at night studying, and the downtown location can deliver your meal to you until 2 a.m.
All of these restaurants are great for students to satisfy their sweet tooth or find that late night snack. Many restaurants stay open late, which is convenient when students are up all night cramming for exams and need something to keep them awake and focused on work instead of their stomachs.
