The Missouri men’s and women’s cross-country teams continued their season on Friday Sept. 14 at the Illinois State Invitational in Normal, Illinois, with another first place win for the women and third for the men.
Pacing the women, freshman Reilly Revord placed second overall and first on the team, finishing at 17:59.1. Revord was among the six women who placed in the top-ten. Following Revord, freshman Tori Findley, redshirt junior Sophia Racette, junior Melissa Menghini, freshman Mikayla Reed, and redshirt junior Jordyn Kleve placed third, fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh overall respectively.
“In high school I was the lone runner for my team,” Findley said after a recent practice. “It was cool to run in a group and work together. It’s not like anything I’ve ever done before.”
For the men, redshirt junior and England native Thomas George led the team as he did at the Brooks Twilight meet on Sept. 1 by placing first for the team third overall. George finished at 25:16.
Junior Kieran Wood, also from England, placed 10th overall at 25:31.4.
Missouri will continue its season Saturday Sept. 29 at the Loyola Lakefront Invitational in Chicago.
