No. 7 Missouri wrestling wasn’t unlike the namesake of its opponent. It came, it saw and it conquered.
Traveling to Old Dominion in Norfolk, Virginia, for their first Mid-American Conference dual meet of the season, the Tigers buried the Monarchs, winning the meet 40-3.
The win extended the team’s dual-meet winning streak to 21 matches. Missouri (2-0, 1-0 MAC) also moves to a perfect 7-0 against Old Dominion all time.
The team’s lone match loss came in the 157-pound weight class. Freshman Lane Stigall fell to No. 11 Larry Early.
Amongst the Tigers’ notable wins is No. 3 redshirt sophomore Jaydin Eierman’s victory over No. 7 Sa’Derian Perry in the 141-pound weight class and No. 17 redshirt sophomore Connor Flynn’s victory over No. 20 Sheldon Wright in the 165-pound weight class.
Missouri will return for its home opener at Hearnes Center on Friday at 7 p.m. CST in a dual meet against Virginia Tech.
