In the second quarter, graduate transfer Kelly Bryant injured his left knee on a late hit from Troy defensive tackle Travis Sailo. The hit, which occurred on a touchdown pass to sophomore Jalen Knox with 1:12 remaining in the half, knocked Bryant out of the game.
“I don’t have any injury updates at this point,” coach Barry Odom said following the game. “I know Kelly is getting checked out now and hopefully I’ll find out something later tonight. He was in great spirits and our doc seemed like it was good news, but I don’t want to go there until I get it confirmed.”
Before exiting, Bryant went 12-19 and passed for 221 yards and three touchdowns. He also recorded his first rushing touchdown of the season in the first quarter.
#####Trajan Jeffcoat no longer with football program#####
Prior to the game, Missouri announced that Jeffcoat is “not presently enrolled at Mizzou.”
Jeffcoat was listed on the Tiger depth chart on Tuesday for the first time all season. The sophomore from South Carolina missed all four games this season due to an elbow injury from a preseason practice.
Odom did not comment further.
####Injury Updates####
Defensive end Tre Williams did not play in the win over Troy. He has three tackles this season and started six games as a sophomore last year.
“He sprained his ankle on Wednesday in practice and [we] thought we were gonna be able to get him back, but gametime decision was not in position,” Odom said.
Redshirt senior Richaud Floyd also left the game with a hamstring injury. Redshirt senior Johnathon Johnson handled the punt returns after he exited the game.
####Missouri receiver Kam Scott has breakout game####
When Missouri fell behind 7-0 early, it needed a spark. On third down and six, Bryant found Scott crossing down the middle of the field toward the right sideline. Scott scampered for 49 yards before being tackled at the two-yard line. The Tigers punched it in two plays later. Scott finished with a new career high, five catches for 88 yards.
