The Border War is back.
Missouri and Kansas men’s basketball announced six annual matchups beginning in the 2020-21 season on Monday night. The first meeting will take place at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri. The teams will then alternate hosting the games until 2025-26.
Missouri will host the Jayhawks in 2022-23 and 2024-25. The teams last met in the regular season in 2012, when Missouri was still in the Big 12. Kansas won the final matchup 87-86 in overtime in Lawrence, Kansas.
“This is a tremendous opportunity for both programs to bring back one of college basketball’s best rivalries,” head coach Cuonzo Martin said in a press release. “I’m excited for our guys, our university and our fans, and we look forward to the battles ahead.”
The two schools have played 267 times, with Kansas leading the all-time series 172-95.
