Mizzou Athletics announced Monday that all games through Dec. 10 are canceled due to a positive COVID-19 case and subsequent contact tracing within the program, according to a press release.
Missouri expected to play Saint Louis this past Sunday. That game, in addition to upcoming home games against Morehead State and TCU and an away game against Texas Tech, was canceled.
Mizzou Athletics did not report whether the positive case is a player or a member of the coaching staff.
Head coach Robin Pingeton stressed the importance of being flexible before the season began last Friday, and that message will be put to the test early in the season.
It’s a big blow to the program, which convincingly defeated North Alabama at home last Friday. Any momentum gained from that win will surely have dissipated by the time the team next takes the court.
Due to guidelines laid out by the SoutheasternConference’s Return to Activity and Medical Guidance Task Force, the earliest Missouri will be able to play is Dec. 13, when it takes on Missouri State at home.
