Q: What do you specialize in for the Fun & Games section?
A: I’m the editor of Fun & Games! But before that, I wrote the monthly horoscopes and columns focusing on [The] Maneater archives.
Q: What’s your favorite food place off campus and why?
A: When I need quick and reliable? Chipotle. You can never go wrong with a vegetable bowl. When I need something that’ll make me take a nap after I finish? Pho Quan Viet Cuisine. It hits every single time.
Q: What’s a movie you think everyone should have seen at least once?
A: It’s a tie between “The Labyrinth” and “The Royal Tenenbaums!”
Q: As the editor, what is your favorite thing to do?
A: I love collaborating with writers and other ed-board members to create fun and unique content.
Q: What food place on campus do you think is overrated?
A: Anything in the student center to be honest…
Abby Henshaw – Assistant Editor of Fun & Games
Q: What do you specialize in for the Fun & Games section?
A: I specialize in advice columns but more recently, I have been branching out with the Then and Now columns about buildings on Mizzou’s campus.
Q: What’s your favorite food place off campus and why?
A: I have two favorite places: first is the Coffee Zone because they have excellent Mediterranean food. I love their gyro deluxe sandwich, and anything with falafel in it. My second favorite place is Paleteria El Tajin, and I recommend everyone try a Mangonada.
Q: What’s a movie you think everyone should have seen at least once?
A: I think a movie everyone should see at least once in their life is “Free Guy” (2021). It’s hilarious and just a great, light-hearted movie that anyone who has ever played a video game will enjoy.
Q: As the assistant editor, what is your favorite thing to do?
A: As assistant editor, I love getting to read and edit stories written by other members of the Fun & Games section. Everyone is so creative and I really enjoy editing!
Q: What food place on campus do you think is overrated?
A: Unfortunately I don’t think any options are overrated because there aren’t too many on campus options. But I guess Plaza 900, because I only ate it for my first month at Mizzou and haven’t gone back since.
Naomi Klein – Writer
Q: What do you specialize in for the Fun & Games section?
A: I specialize in drawing comics and writing serialized stories!
Q: What’s your favorite food place off campus and why?
A: My favorite food place off campus is MOD Pizza. I love going there with my family and getting a different combination of toppings every time, and their food is super good!
Q: What’s a movie you think everyone should have seen at least once?
A: A movie I think everyone should see at least once is “Into the Spiderverse,” the animation is phenomenal!
Q: As a writer, what is your favorite thing to do?
A: My favorite thing to do as a writer is write dialogue! That also includes script writing. I’m a huge theater nerd.
Q: What food place on campus do you think is overrated?
A: I think Starbucks is overrated. It’s convenient, yes, but personally I like Bookmark and Potential Energy better as cafes.
Bri Davis – Writer
Q: What do you specialize in for the Fun & Games section?
A: I write poems, advice columns and more recently horoscopes for Fun & Games!
Q: What’s your favorite food place off campus and why?
A: I haven’t had it in a while, but I know if I were to eat it today I would fall in love all over again. Le Bao! It has such great noodles and flavors and makes me feel like I’m at home.
Q: What’s a movie you think everyone should have seen at least once?
A: “Coraline.” Everyone says that it’s weird and scary but I see the message behind it. Appreciate what you have, no matter how small or big. Love your family, no matter how good or bad things are. Anything can happen at any time.
Q: As a writer, what is your favorite thing to do?
A: I enjoy being able to make people smile with the stories I put out. I like hearing the feedback I get from people when they say that they enjoyed what I wrote or that it was fun to read!
Q: What food place on campus do you think is overrated?
A: Morts! It messes up my stomach sometimes and that chicken doesn’t always look right to me…
Sarah Moura – Writer
Q: What do you specialize in for the Fun & Games section?
A: I normally write satires or “How To’s,” just giving the people my perspective about a topic in a funny way or advice.
Q: What’s your favorite food place off campus and why?
A: This Cuban restaurant, Sagua La Grande Cuban Cafe, that’s near Shakespeare’s. I love it because it’s the closest I got to my home country’s food nearby.
Q: What’s a movie you think everyone should have seen at least once?
A: For sure, hands down, “White Chicks.” It’s definitely a classic and I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve seen it.
Q: As a writer, what is your favorite thing to do?
A: I guess my favorite part as a writer is just knowing that whenever I write, there’s a chance someone’s day can get better out of it (at least I hope so).
Q: What food place on campus do you think is overrated?
A: Sabai. I don’t blame people that like it, but I’ve never had a meal I didn’t regret there.
Joey Yancey – Writer
Q: What do you specialize in for the Fun & Games section?
A: I recently switched to Fun & Games from the News section of The Maneater at the start of second semester. I haven’t carved out a speciality yet, but I do enjoy rankings and satirical pieces related to MU.
Q: What’s your favorite food place off campus and why?
A: Goldie’s Bagels is a classic. Their bagels are always super fresh and delicious. I also love Flat Branch for lunch and dinner.
Q: What’s a movie you think everyone should have seen at least once?
A: “Everything Everywhere All at Once!” My favorite movie ever.
Q: As a writer, what is your favorite thing to do?
A: I love writing to make a difference. To inform. To tell a story. Writing is the best.

A: Sabai.
Bella Moore – Writer
Q: What do you specialize in for the Fun & Games section?
A: I specialize mainly in poetry for Fun & Games!
Q: What’s your favorite food place off campus and why?
A: My favorite food off campus at the moment is Geisha Sushi Bar. I’ve gotten gift cards there from friends and tried it and now I love it.
Q: What’s a movie you think everyone should have seen at least once?
A: I think everyone needs to see “Howl’s Moving Castle,” but not because it’s my favorite (yes because it’s my favorite).
Q: As a writer, what is your favorite thing to do?
A: As someone who writes a lot, I’d say my favorite part of it is just letting myself write what I feel or what I want to write. I enjoy the freedom and creativity that comes with it.
Q: What food place on campus do you think is overrated?
A: I don’t really have any strong opinions about any campus foods, but it would be nice if they were open on the weekends.
Nicole Lardner – Writer
Q: What do you specialize in for the Fun & Games section?
A: I specialize in fashion writing, specifically my fashion advice column, “Ask a Fashion Student.” I’ve also written about satire and horoscopes.
Q: What’s your favorite food place off campus and why?
A: La Terraza! It’s an amazing Mexican place. I highly recommend it.
Q: What’s a movie you think everyone should have seen at least once?
A: “Everything Everywhere All At Once.” It’s probably recently biased, but it’s one of the best movies I’ve ever seen. It’s absolutely crazy but the emotional depth of the movie is something everyone should experience.
Q: As a writer, what is your favorite thing to do?
A: I love spreading information about things I’m passionate about, like sustainability in fashion!
Q: What food place on campus do you think is overrated?
A: Morts. It has good food, but it sometimes can upset my stomach.
