MU’s Steering Committee announces Kappa Kappa Gamma and Alpha Gamma Sigma as 2023 Homecoming winners.
On Monday at 7 p.m. in Traditions Plaza, members of Fraternity and Sorority Life organizations gathered to hear the announcement of the winners of this year’s Homecoming competition.
Sorority Kappa Kappa Gamma and fraternity Alpha Gamma Sigma won the Traditions Category of MU Homecoming, which is composed of all FSL organizations.
This year’s sub theme was “children’s books”, and tasked the pairing with the children’s book “Goodnight, Goodnight Construction Site.” They competed in a float parade, in which they placed first, interactive house decorations, a skit, a dance and Decorate the District.
Pi Beta Phi and Delta Chi secured the second-place position overall, and won first in the talent and banner competitions. Additionally, Kappa Alpha Theta and Theta Chi won first place for Decorate the District and blood donations, and Chi Omega and Pi Kappa Phi won first place in the service category.
Non-FSL organizations competed in separate categories. Little Sisters of the Gold Rose won overall in the “Truman” category, Sigma Alpha won overall in the “Columns” category, and Alpha Chi Sigma won overall in the “Black & Gold” category.
