Five basketball recruits signed their letters of intent on national signing day, officially accepting their scholarship to the University of Missouri.
One of the first signing day periods occurred on Nov. 8, and five Missouri basketball commits signed their letters of intent to the men’s basketball program.
Overtime Elite center Peyton Marshall was the first to sign his letter of intent. Marshall, a 7-foot 300-pound center, is a top 100 player in the country and the No. 15 ranked center according to 247sports. Marshall committed in early August and inked his name early Nov. 8.
The next future Tiger to sign his commitment letter was Link Academy prospect T.O. Barrett. Barrett, a 6-foot-4-inch guard, was the first of a flurry of Tiger commitments announced on Jun. 29. Barrett is originally from Edmond, Oklahoma, but transferred to Link Academy for the 2023 high school season. Barrett is ranked No. 121 in the country according to 247Sports.
Trent Burns was the most recent MU commitment, and maybe a more surprising one. Burns measures up at 7-foot-3-inches and comes in as the No. 100 ranked player in the country according to 247Sports. Burns brings a unique skill set at such a large height, with a combination of shooting and fluidity unusual for a player his size. He is also a high-level shot blocker. During the EYBL season last summer, Burns averaged 1.3 blocks per game.
Marcus Allen announced his commitment shortly after Peyton Marshall did, leaving much for MU basketball fans to be excited about. Now, Allen has made his commitment official, becoming the fourth Tiger to sign his letter of intent. Allen is yet another top 100 player according to 247Sports, ranked at No. 59 nationally.
The highest-ranked recruit out of all the commits, Annor Boateng was the final tiger to sign. Boateng is the No. 27 ranked player in the country according to 247Sports, and is the fourth highest ranked recruit in program history. Boateng comes from Little Rock, Ark., where he is the highest-ranked player in the state.
Five Tigers have now officially made their commitment to the men’s basketball program. Missouri is a consensus top 10 class across recruiting platforms, with the second highest according to 247Sports. Head coach Dennis Gates may not be done, as he is currently trying to acquire top-ten recruit Jayden Quaintance.
