True/False attendees gather at Cafe Berlin to listen to live music and dance the day away
Ending the third day of True/False Film Fest, attendees gather at Cafe Berlin on Saturday, March 3 to hear three music artists perform as part of the festival’s Saturday Night Berlin Showcase. With the doors opening at 7 p.m. and the event starting at 8 p.m. attendees trickled in slowly but stayed to listen and drink to the music.
Cafe Berlin hosted the True/False Film Fest Saturday Night Berlin Showcase on Saturday, March 2 at Cafe Berlin in Columbia, Mo. Attendees were able to drink and dance to a live DJ.Dakota Hommes talks to her friend about all the films that she watched over the past three days. “I am volunteering as a film screener, so I get to see all of the films early,” Hommes said. “But it is nice to see them again, they are all really good.”The MC for the night begins to set up the stage, preparing for the three musicians to come out and perform. He hyped up the crowd with remixes of pop songs before introducing the first performer, Zeph France.The MC began to play the background tracks to MU alumni Zeph France’s music. “I just graduated in spring of 2023,” France said.A crowd begins to gather before the Saturday Night Berlin Showcase begins. German music plays over the speakers as Cafe Berlin is a brunch and cafe and dinner restaurant.Zeph France sings one of the songs that he made for the crowd at Cafe Berlin. “This is about how even the simplest of things can bring a lot of joy,” France said to the crowd. “My dad taught me this.”
