With two additional transfer commits, Missouri football reaches 14 in the 2024 offseason
The Missouri football transfer portal has seen some action following the 2023-2024 football season. The Tigers have 19 outgoing transfers and 14 rolling in. The latest additions came on May 1 when defensive lineman Eddie Kelly and linebacker Jeremiah Beasely committed.
Kelly, a Florida native, attended the University of Southern Florida in 2022 before transferring to Georgia Tech the following year. He is now leaving the Yellow Jackets to become a Tiger with two years of eligibility remaining.
At Georgia Tech last year, Kelly had a breakout season. He finished the season with 38 tackles, 5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks.
Beasley is from Belleville, Michigan and he decided to stay in state when he enrolled at The University of Michigan earlier this year. After just four months of enrollment, he entered the transfer portal on April 25, committing to Missouri six days later. Beasley will join the Tigers with four years of eligibility remaining.
Beasely, a four-star linebacker, played football at Belleville High School, taking snaps on both sides of the ball. In 2021, he recorded 65 tackles and 10 forced fumbles. These stats helped Beasely attract more than 20 college offers. They also resulted in him being ranked No. 26 among all linebacker recruits in the class of 2024 and No. 184 overall among transfers.
Michigan has seen plenty of turnover as head coach Jim Harbaugh decided to move to the NFL after winning the National Championship. Beasley is one of 17 players to transfer during the spring.
Kelly and Beasely will both look to make immediate impacts as Tigers. Kelly’s commitment comes at a convenient time, as Missouri just lost top defender Darius Robinson to the NFL draft. Robinson recorded 43 tackles while Kelly saw similar production with 38. Likewise, Beasley transfers in with fellow linebackers Corey Flagg from Miami and Brady Hultman from Wyoming. The incoming trio will look to fill the gaps left by the three linebackers Missouri lost to the transfer portal.
