The Tigers have six new recruits this season from a variety of locations.
Missouri women’s basketball introduced six new players to the 2024-2025 roster. With two freshmen and four transfers, the six newcomers are ready to add to the team’s success.
Freshman point guard Londyn Oliphant and forward Ma’Riya Vincent are both from the Lone Star State. Oliphant comes all the way from Dallas, Texas, with an impressive high school record. She was ranked No. 40 overall in the state of Texas.
Oliphant was a two-time First Team All-District performer and competed for FAM Elite on AAU. She averaged 14.1 points, 4.1 assists, 5.3 rebounds and 2.9 assists her senior season and was a First Team All-State honoree.
Vincent, just a four-hour drive away from Oliphant in Houston, was ranked the No. 4 recruit in the state of Texas. She earned both All-State and 2022-23 All-Region honors. She was also the Naismith High School Player of the Year nominee.
The four transfers also provide an impressive record, starting with forward Laniah Randle. Randle, originally from Wichita, Kan., spent her first three seasons with the Southern Illinois Salukis.
She played in at least 27 games each of the three years and was named to the All-Missouri Valley Conference First Team last season. Randle was also named the MVC Newcomer of the Year, being the first Saluki to earn this honor.
Guard Tilda Sjökvist, originally from Sweden, transferred from Presbyterian University. She appeared in all 30 games last year, she started in 28 of them and was among the top freshmen in the league for assists.
Sjökvist was one of only two Presbyterian freshmen since 2008-09 to eclipse 100 assists in her debut season and to land all-freshman honors. She was an all star in the Nordic championship 2019 and played in the European championship 2019 with U16.
Transfer guard Nyah Wilson, originally from Dallas, comes from New Mexico and previously played at Syracuse. She started all 30 games at New Mexico, averaging 31.6 minutes per game, 15.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.2 blocks per game.
She was named the Mountain West Newcomer of the Year and Mountain West All-Conference with 41.3% of shots from the floor and 34.9% from the three-point range.
The final transfer, center Tionna Herron, is also a Texas native from DeSoto, Texas. She was supposed to start her career at Kentucky, but was unable to play after undergoing open-heart surgery in August 2022.
Herron then made the move to the University of Texas, playing in 11 games and scoring a season-high six points in 12 minutes against UT Arlington before making her way to MU.
