Missouri men’s baseball suffered its second loss of the season Tuesday night at Florida Atlantic. Despite their strong weekend performance, which featured a 34-3 win over Mount St. Mary’s, the Tigers lacked offensive production against the Owls, as they fell 4-2.
The game started slowly for the Tigers, as they failed to get on base until the top of the fourth. Outfielder Pierre Seals got the offense started with a single into the infield, but was left stranded to end the inning.
The Owls struck in the bottom of the fourth with back-to-back runs to jump to an early 2-0 lead. Freshman pitcher JD Dohrmann struck out four batters before giving up the first runs of the night.
Dohrmann left the mound at the end of the fifth, leading to graduate reliever Kadden Drew being called in. Dohrmann ended his night with five strikeouts and one earned run allowed.
The score remained 2-0 until the sixth inning, when first baseman Jase Woita hit his ninth and 10th RBIs of the season with a two-run home run into right field to knot the score.
Drew followed with two quick outs before allowing a walk, which called for another Mizzou pitching change. Freshman pitcher Sam Rosand stepped up to get the last out of the sixth inning.
The offensive struggles continued for Missouri, as another batter was left stranded at the top of the seventh. Missouri ended the game, leaving four runners on base.
Rosand struck out the first FAU batter, but then allowed a double down the right field line. FAU third baseman Nick Romano took the Missouri reliever deep with a two-run shot into right field to give the Owls the game-winning runs.
Missouri will look to bounce back Feb. 20-22 in a series against New Haven in Fort Myers, Florida.

Score 30 runs one game but when pressure is on can’t even get the bat off their shoulder. Another cellar sec year.
