The True/False Film Fest crew will present Academy Award winning director James Marsh another addition for his mantle Saturday.

According to Festival Co-Founder Paul Sturtz, the award is called the True Vision Award. One director receives the award each year during the festival.

“It’s the only award given each year, and it’s to filmmakers in the middle of their careers who are contributing to the world of non-fiction filmmaking and the advancement of it,” Sturtz said.

This year the festival will play two of Marsh’s older films, “Wisconsion Death Trip” and “The Burger and the King,” as well as his new movie “Project Nim.”

Strutz said several factors are taken into account before the winner of the True Vision Award is decided.

“We look at their body of work as a whole and if they have a new and noteworthy film,” Strutz said.

Marsh, who is probably best known for his Oscar winning documentary “Man on Wire,” will receive the True Vision Award Saturday night after the viewing of “Project Nim.”
