Missouri men’s basketball coach Frank Haith filled three positions on his coaching staff Wednesday afternoon with the hiring of Tim Fuller, Ernie Nestor and Todor Pandov. All three will begin working with the team immediately.

“We are certainly excited to make this announcement,” Haith said in a press release on MUTigers.com. “There are a number of qualities you look for when organizing your staff. You want energy, integrity and an ability to mold and shape young men on and off the basketball court. We have that with the hiring of Tim, Ernie and Todor. I couldn’t be happier to have these three men and their tremendous families join us at Mizzou.”

Fuller, who has 11 seasons of coaching experience, most recently served under Rick Pitino at Louisville. He will be an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for Haith.

“Louisville has a Top 10 recruiting class for next year and Tim was a major part of that,” Haith said. “Obviously, Tim has great contacts all over the country, not just because of his ability to teach the game of basketball, but his connections with Nike and the AAU and high school circuits.”

Fuller and Haith first met in Winston-Salem, N.C. Haith. Fuller had two stints as an assistant coach at Wake Forest, coached Fuller during his playing career with the Demon Deacons from 1997-2000. It was during that time the two developed a strong relationship that lead to Fuller’s decision to leave Louisville to join Haith at Missouri.

“Frank Haith has been like a father to me,” Fuller said in a statement on Louisville’s website. “He’s been a part of my life since I was a freshman in college and has helped mentor, advise and direct me in every aspect as a person and professionally.”

Nestor, who has connections with both Haith and Fuller from his time as an assistant coach at Wake Forest, has a total of 42 years of coaching experience. He has spent time in the Pac-10, ACC, SEC and Big 10 as an assistant and served as head coach at Elon College and George Mason University.

“It’s exciting to be reunited with Frank here at Missouri,” Nestor said. “Frank is an outstanding coach, someone who has the ability to connect with young men and get the most out of them. I am also excited to be part of the Missouri family. Being around the college game for 40 years, I know what it means when someone says Mizzou Basketball. These fans expect discipline and toughness and that’s what we will give them.”

Pandov, the lone carryover from Haith’s staff at Miami, joins the Mizzou Athletics Performance staff after spending last season as Miami’s strength and conditioning coach.

“I’m excited to have Todor join us at Missouri as well,” Haith said. “He has a tremendous grasp of what it takes to be successful at this level and will give our players a unique perspective with his collegiate playing experience. It’s great to have Todor, his wife, Kimberly, and son, Mason, join us in Columbia.”

According to a news release on MUTigers.com, Haith is in the process of finalizing two more hires on his staff, an assistant coaching position focused on recruiting and instruction and a director of basketball operations.
