1. Officers arrest two women stumbling through Greektown
MU Police Department officers stopped two women at 1:18 a.m. Friday at the corner of Maryland Avenue and Kentucky Boulevard, according to an MU police report.
“Officers witnessed two intoxicated females stumbling down the road,” Capt. Scott Richardson said.
Sidhi Patel, 18, was arrested on charges of minor of possession of alcohol by intoxication.
2. Police respond to argument over missing laptop
Martha Margaret Combs, 21, was arrested Saturday at 12:33 a.m. when officers were called to 802 East Broadway, according to a Columbia police report. Three female roommates were intoxicated and arguing. Items had been thrown about the apartment, and broken glass was on the floor, Columbia Police Department spokeswoman Jill Schlude said. None of the women would tell officers exactly what had happened, but one woman told police her laptop was gone. When the women gave officers consent, they searched the other apartment bedrooms and found the laptop in Combs’ room beneath a piece of furniture. She was charged with one count of receiving stolen property.
3. Three break into Faurot morning before football game
MU Police Department officers saw three men inside Faurot Field at 3:43 a.m. Saturday.
“The subjects had jumped the gate,” Richardson said.
Pierce Cohen and Jonathan Rienstra, both 22, stayed by the gate and cooperated after officers made their presence known. Jonathan Griffin, 22, ran toward the visiting team’s locker room. Officers caught him before he could leave the field.
All three were arrested on charges of first-degree trespassing.
4. Officer tails bike thief
MU police observed four suspicious individuals at 5:56 p.m. Saturday on the north side of the University Bookstore, according to an MU police report.
Nicholas Logan, 21, took a bicycle propped against the wall and left with the other three men. An officer continued to watch the group as they walked away.
“Then once they saw the officer following them the subject with the bike walked to the nearest rack and laid the bike down,” Richardson said.
Logan was arrested on charges of theft.
