Three suspects were arrested Tuesday in connection with their involvement in 11 shootings that have occurred in Columbia in the past 27 days.
This is the highest concentration of shots fired in Columbia since the 1990s. The most recent incident occurred at Chuck E. Cheese’s at 2003 Worley St. last weekend.
Aaron Harris, 19, was arrested at 3 p.m. at Seventh and Walnut streets. Ahmonta Harris, 20, was arrested at 5:50 p.m at 600 E. Walnut St. Both were arrested on suspicion of third-degree assault.
Both were involved in the Feb. 11 assault of a male victim at Boone Tavern & Restaurant prior to shots being fired. Their bonds were set at $25,000 each, according to a Columbia Police Deparment news release.
“They were not cooperative,” CPD spokeswoman Latisha Stroer said.
Steffon White, 17, was arrested at 11:27 p.m. in the 200 block of Lincoln Avenue. According to a news release, he was identified as one of the shooters involved in the Jan. 24 shooting at McBaine Avenue and Dean Street and was arrested on suspicion of unlawful use of a weapon.
His bond was set at $100,000.
Malcolm Redmon, 28, and Channing Williams, 18, were arrested Monday night.
Redmon had a warrant out for his arrest after the Boone Tavern assault incident. His bond has been set at $25,000, according to a news release.
Williams had a warrant for his arrest for first-degree assault, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon. His bond has been set at $300,000.
