1. Three arrested after car theft
A car reported stolen on April 5 was found by a police officer Monday at 6:41 a.m. near the 8900 block of Graham Road. The officer found three people inside of the car, Anthony Gallup, 21, Abby Bradley, 17, and Summer Carver, 17. All three were arrested and taken into custody on charges of second-degree tampering, with a $500 bond set for each, according to CPD spokeswoman Stephanie Drouin.
2. Four arrested after altercation in park
An officer on patrol at 4:50 p.m. Tuesday near Douglass Park was flagged down by a citizen who said there was a fight occurring between numerous subjects in the park. When the officer arrived on the scene the fighting stopped, and Lakeidra Wallace, 18, Zendra Brady, 21, Shauntell Franklin, 19, and Janise Glenn, 17, were all charged with disturbing the peace and released on summons. The police report did not identify the cause of the fight.
3. Fight leaves security officer with broken nose
A Columbia man was arrested Tuesday after an altercation at University Hospital that left a security officer with a broken nose.
“Officers were dispatched to the Psychiatric Center in reference to an assault,” MU Police Department spokesman Brian Weimer said.
MUPD officers arrived at University Hospital, 1 Hospital Drive, just before noon and found Scott A. Malloy, 31, according to police records.
“(Malloy) had hit the security officer, and his nose was broken,” Weimer said.
Malloy was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault of emergency personnel.
4. Police charge two with marijuana possession
At 12:44 a.m. Wednesday, an officer patrolling near the intersection of College and University avenues conducted a traffic stop after witnessing a vehicle make a turn without signaling. When the officer went to speak to the driver, he detected the odor of marijuana and asked to search the vehicle. The car’s occupants, Trinity Anderson, 18, and Destiny Thomas, 17, were both found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana. Each was charged with possession of less than 35 grams of marijuana and released with a summons.
