An unknown suspect fled on foot Tuesday after breaking into a residence through a window and demanding money.
“The house was ransacked and there was damage to the screen on the window,” Columbia Police Department spokeswoman Latisha Stroer said.
The female victim returned to her residence, located in the 5700 block of Camden Circle, at about 10:23 p.m. to find a burglar inside. He had a shirt over his head, was wielding a handgun and demanded money, according to a CPD press release.
The victim fled to a neighbor’s house and the suspect fled the scene by foot in an unknown direction with an undisclosed amount of money.
The suspect was identified as a 5-foot-7-inch black male in with a light complexion in his mid-20s.
No one was injured during the incident.
