Hillary Bernard Miller IV, a suspect in two bank robberies that took place earlier this year in Columbia, was arrested in St. Louis on Wednesday.
Columbia police officers, as well as FBI personnel and St. Louis Metropolitan Police officers, made the arrest Wednesday at 2902 Miami St., St. Louis.
He was taken into custody at the address without incident and transported to the Columbia Police Department, according to a news release from the department. Officers searched his residence and found evidence to tie him to the robberies in Columbia.
The evidence found cannot be discussed at this time, according to the news release.
“He is not a suspect in any other robbery that has taken place in Columbia,” CPD spokeswoman Latisha Stroer said. “I am not sure of any other place, but he does have a record.”
Miller has a bond of $100,000 for each robbery.
He stole undisclosed amounts of money from the Academic Employees Credit Union on West Ash Street in June and the Columbia Municipal Credit Union on East Walnut Street in July.
Of the 10 robberies that took place this year, the police department has solved eight of them. Stroer said she attributes this success to the information received from video surveillances and witness reports of detailed vehicle descriptions and license plate numbers.
