####Man flees scene, identified by eyewitness account
Police arrested Jack Morrison, 39, on Wednesday evening for failing to report an accident at the University Avenue parking garage.
Morrison hit another car and left the scene without leaving contact information on the damaged vehicle, according to MUPD reports.
The owner of the damaged vehicle returned to his or her car that afternoon and found a note written by a witness of the accident. The note contained Morrison’s license plate number, MU Police Department spokesman Brian Weimer said.
The owner of the damaged vehicle used this information when reporting the accident. Police ran the license plate number and identified Morrison as the owner of the other vehicle.
Morrison was arrested and released on signature summons.
####Man nearly crashes into officer, arrested on DWI charge
Officers arrested Joshua Burleson, 21, during a routine patrol early Thursday morning.
Burleson almost ran into an MUPD officer at Locust and South Ninth Street, Weimer said.
The officer followed Burleson and stopped him in parking lot RC18. After conducting a sobriety test, it was determined Burleson was intoxicated, according to MUPD reports.
Burleson was arrested for driving while intoxicated and was released on a $500 city bond.
####Man arrested with gun at Hobby Lobby
Omer Abdulkarim Mohammed, 22, was arrested at 7:52 p.m. Thursday at Hobby Lobby on Worley Street. A man who had a handgun was speaking in a hostile manner, and officers found him and took him into custody. His pistol was holstered on his right hip and concealed beneath his shirt.
Because Mohammed did not have a concealed carry gun permit, he was charged on suspicion of unlawful use of a weapon as well as peace disturbance, spokeswoman Latisha Stroer said.
####One arrested on charges of stealing car parts
Police arrested Tyler Charles Sutherland, 24, at 11:08 p.m. Friday when an officer was called about the theft of car parts at Joe Machens Rental and Detail on Worley Street, Stroer said.
Sutherland was seen in the passenger seat of a white Ford truck with a missing headlight, and the exterior mirrors were lying next to the vehicle. Sutherland was charged on suspicion of second-degree property damage, stealing misdemeanor and second-degree tampering.
####Man arrested on DWI charges
After observing a traffic violation, police arrested James Page, 50, near South Providence Road and Locust Street early Sunday morning.
Police observed Page’s vehicle touch and cross the center traffic line for four to five seconds, Weimer said.
The vehicle continued to weave in the lane, according to MUPD reports.
After pulling the vehicle over, police conducted a sobriety test and determined the individual was intoxicated.
Page was arrested for driving while intoxicated as a prior offender and failing to drive within a single lane.
Page was transported to Boone County Jail and has since been released.
