####Woman steals stock pot, attempts to return it####
Columbia Police Department officers were sent to the 415 Conley Rd. Walmart Supercenter after a Loss Prevention Officer reported a possible theft. Tashawna Jones tried to return a stock pot she stole earlier. After employees refused to let Jones return the item, she put it in a cart and left without paying for it again. A Columbia police officer went to Jones’ house and arrested her on charges of a third stealing offense, CPD spokeswoman Latisha Stroer said.
####Fight leads to shotgun shattering window ####
Malachi Walker, 28, shattered a window by throwing a sawed-off, short barrel shotgun out of it after getting in a fight with a woman Friday night. In the middle of the fight, after Walker threw the shotgun, CPD officers were called to the scene. Upon searching the house, officers found drug-related items. Walker was arrested on charges of possession of prohibited weapons, second-degree property damage and possession of drug paraphernalia.
####Domestic dispute leads to arrest####
CPD officers were called to 1804 Monroe Street at 2:20 a.m. Sunday in response to a domestic disturbance. Officers found that Bruce Jordan had gotten into a fight with his girlfriend. Jordan, 32, kicked his girlfriend and slammed her head into a door frame. When officers handcuffed him, Jordan yelled at them and tried to push them away. Jordan was arrested on third-degree domestic assault and resisting arrest charges.
####18-year-old arrested on child endangerment charges####
CPD officers arrested Dominic Lomelin when he took his 4-year-old daughter to the Boone County Hospital Center at 1 p.m. Sunday. The girl had old, healing fractures on her forearm, ribs and lower leg, along with new fractures in both legs above and below the knee. Lomelin, 18, was arrested on child endangerment charges.
####Drunk man attacks woman and child####
Larry Newman drunkenly attacked a woman and her child at 1 p.m. Sunday, according to Columbia Police Department reports. CPD officers were dispatched to 1306 Lowe St. and arrested Newman, 56, on suspicion of third-degree domestic assault and third-degree assault.
