Café Berlin’s distinct atmosphere presents itself the moment you step inside. Strands of Christmas lights dangle from the ceilings, random hula-hoops hang on a hook, antique glass roosters stand on a shelf, along with a college student’s favorite: thrift coffee mugs.

One of the must-try dishes is the breakfast dish, Apples and Sausage. Sounds normal, right? With Café Berlin’s spin on things, these two common foods are accompanied with garlic, red onions and chili powder. It’s served on your choice of a pancake, French toast or a waffle.

Another well-known plate if you’re a strict lunch-lover is the Compost Pile, which consists of a biscuit topped with grilled veggies, jack cheese and a 1/3-pound burger.
