Missouri football coach Gary Pinkel has suspended sophomore receiver Dorial Green-Beckham from the program indefinitely for a violation of team policies, the team announced Monday.

The suspension is immediate and includes practices and team activities. Green-Beckham will have access to the academic resource center.

“It’s unfortunate, but it’s the right thing to do for our football program, for the athletic department, and also for Dorial,” Pinkel said in a news release. “We have high standards related to the expectations that come along with being a Missouri Tiger, and Dorial has not met those recently.”

Green-Beckham was not arrested today by the Columbia Police Department, spokesman Joe Bernhard said. The department said it could not comment on any ongoing investigation involving Green-Beckham.

The Boone County prosecutor’s office said no charges had been filed against Green-Beckham.

The team’s press release did not specify what team policies Green-Beckham violated.

Green-Beckham has twice previously found himself in trouble with the law.

He was [detained by police in January](https://www.themaneater.com/stories/2014/1/11/green-beckham-arrested-again-drug-charges/) in Springfield, Mo., while in a car that was carrying a pound of marijuana. That investigation is ongoing. The Greene County prosecutors office was unable to comment Monday.

In [October 2012,](https://www.themaneater.com/stories/2012/10/4/three-football-players-arrested-drug-charges/) Green-Beckham was arrested on another marijuana possession charge.

“It’s frustrating because we work very hard to instill responsibility and discipline in our young men so that our program represents Mizzou the right way,” Pinkel said in the release. “These actions aren’t representative of those expectations, and we are addressing these issues head on.”
