According to a [CBSSports.com report](http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/writer/dennis-dodd/25099127/houstons-mack-rhoades-expected-to-be-named-new-ad-at-mizzou), University of Houston athletic director Mack Rhoades is expected to be named to the same position at Missouri. Rhoades would replace current AD Mike Alden, who [announced earlier this year](https://www.themaneater.com/stories/2015/1/29/missouri-ad-mike-alden-announces-resignation/) that he will be stepping down from the role in August.
Earlier this week, Texas A&M athletic director Jason Cook was informed he would not be getting the job, and Ole Miss athletic director Ross Bjork removed his name from the search.
Current Missouri chancellor R. Bowen Loftin considered Rhoades for the Texas A&M athletic director job in 2012 when he was the university’s president.
Rhoades has developed a reputation at Houston as one of the nation’s best fundraisers, leading efforts to build $120 million TDECU Stadium and a $25 million basketball practice facility in the past few years. He’s also credited with the hirings of former Oklahoma basketball coach Kelvin Sampson and former Ohio State offensive coordinator Tom Watson, both of whom have championships on their respective resumes.
Rhoades previously held jobs at Akron and Texas-El Paso before moving to Houston, and Missouri would mark his first Power Five conference job. With a football team fresh off an 11-3 season, a basketball team with facilities already set to be renovated and a new set of funds set to flow in from SEC Network revenue, Rhoades’ potential at Missouri certainly looks promising.
Missouri is expected to announce the hiring in a press conference on Tuesday.
