For the first time this season, the Missouri volleyball team fell.

The Tigers fell behind early to Saint Louis University and the Billikens quickly took advantage of the team’s seven errors in the first set. In spite of sophomore Kira Larson’s three kills on a .600, the team was defeated 16-25.

“Credit goes to Saint Louis as they came out firing from the get go tonight,” coach Wayne Kreklow said in a [news release.](http://mutigers.com/news/2015/9/23/VB_0923154037.aspx?path=wvball) “It was a great crowd inside Chaifetz and they used a lot of momentum from them. We’re disappointed in the loss tonight, but I’m very proud of how our team fared during the nonconference schedule.”

Despite dropping the first set, the Tigers came out ready to battle before halftime. The two teams exchanged points back and forth constantly, creating a multitude of ties and lead changes. However, the Tigers could not hold its lead as the Billikens pulled away on a 8-5 run, claiming the set 25-17.

As the Billikens’ offensive domination continued in the third and final set, ending the night with 44 kills hitting .333, the Tigers were unable to gain momentum due to a slur of nine errors and a low hitting percentage of .111.

The team ended the night with 22 errors and a hitting percentage of only .136.

Next Wednesday will mark the team’s first game of conference play as they take on the Florida Gators at 7 p.m. in Hearnes Center.
