We all know the movies are awesome, but there is a ton more to True/False than just the films. MOVE, aka the chillest people to take weekend recs from, recommends you head out to these events as well.
####The March March
This event kicks off the entire festival. It’s a crazy, quirky parade that is open to the public. Everyone dresses up in costumes and it’s an awesome time. It’s led by two Q Queens, and you can watch or march yourself.
When: 5:15 p.m. Friday, March 4
Where: Boone County Courthouse Square (right next to that big keyhole)
####The Art Ramble
This is a tour of downtown that takes you by many of the fest’s art installations. It’s a good way to see a lot of the art without making an individual trip to each location.
When: noon Saturday, March 5
2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 5
noon Sunday, March 6
2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 6
Where: All tours depart from the Box Office at 1020 E. Broadway.
####Gimme Truth!
This is a game show where the audience and a panel of esteemed filmmakers attempt to figure out whether a short is fact or fiction (a documentary or a fantasy). It’s a great way to test your internal lie detector and witness some of the best directors the fest has to offer in a less formal setting.
When: 10:30 p.m. Saturday, March 5
Where: The Vimeo Theatre at The Blue Note
####Buskers Last Stand
While you should see absolutely every busker performance you can make it to (and there are a ton), as a last-ditch alternative, head out to Jesse Auditorium or Missouri Theatre for the buskers’ last performances of the festival. They’ll all get together and jam in the lobbies to close the fest out.
When: 9:30 and 9:45 p.m. Sunday, March 6
Where: Jesse Auditorium and Missouri Theatre, respectively
