After the resignations of former Chancellor R. Bowen Loftin and former UM System President Tim Wolfe in November, questions have been raised about how the UM System operates and the roles of its president, chancellors and Board of Curators.
The UM System was founded in 1963, merging four schools across the state of Missouri into a four-campus system. The system is governed by the Board of Curators and UM System president. Each campus has a chancellor.
