####Movie
“Batman vs. Superman” isn’t necessarily a good film, but it’s a must-see to be a part of the pop culture conversation surrounding the movie. The film shows Batman’s anguish at losing his parents as well as his general hatred of Superman, the conflict that drives the movie. The film is one step up from the 2013 Superman film “Man of Steel,” with both featuring mega cute boy Henry Cavill. Ben Affleck plays Batman, and even though I don’t like him very much, his Batman layered the movie with a satisfying darkness that led the film.
####Show to binge
Oy, with the poodles already. In a turn of events that definitely made me cry a little, Melissa McCarthy announced Thursday afternoon that she was returning to “Gilmore Girls” for the revival. “Gilmore Girls,” a show about fast-talking mom and daughter pair Lorelai and Rory Gilmore, is a staple in my Netflix queue. If you haven’t seen it yet, that should be your weekend plan. The show is perfect for binge-watching and is riveting and funny without being over-the-top. The revival is going to be four 90-minute episodes released on Netflix. After waiting nine years, “Gilmore Girls” fans deserve this.

####Song
“American Idol” bid America farewell Thursday night after 15 years. The show that created mega-stars like Jennifer Hudson and Carrie Underwood has finally come to an end. The show survived famed judges/sass-masters Simon, Paula and Randy leaving the show, and it even survived the odd additions of Ellen DeGeneres, Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban, Nicki Minaj and many others who came and went. The show said goodbye with a bang — including a surprise appearance from Simon, Randy and Paula. Just like the good times.
####Novel
Lauren Conrad’s “Celebrate” came out at the end of March, and in the most suburban choice of the week, I think it’s a must-read. “Celebrate” is like a fancy etiquette book with gorgeous visuals and fun ways to throw kick-ass parties. While it can’t teach me how to have perfect hair like Conrad herself, it can definitely help throw an incredible soiree. It has advice for every celebration, from bridal parties to baby showers, and is definitely a necessary read for every party lover.
####Wine and recipe pairing:
The week after spring break calls for a special pairing. To satisfy your sweet tooth (and relax after this long week), pair a [Brachetto D’Acqui](http://www.shopwinedirect.com/marenco-pineto-brachetto-dacqui-2014.html?vfsku=italr164&vfsku=italr164&gpla=pla&gclid=CIe_0dWF_ssCFYsAaQod8mcHlQ) with a [big chocolate cake.](http://allrecipes.com/recipe/17981/one-bowl-chocolate-cake-iii/). Nothing will quell the post-spring break blues like wine and cake, trust me.
####Friday event:
Alternative rock band X-Ambassadors are set to come to MU Friday night with Seined Sey and Savoir Adore. The show starts at 8 p.m. in Jesse Auditorium, and you can buy tickets at the MSA/GPC Box Office in the Student Center. The X-Ambassadors are best known for their mega popular song “Renegades.” This is one of the biggest bands coming to MU this year, so it’s a must-see show.
####Saturday event:
Indie rock band The Front Bottoms are coming to The Blue Note Saturday at 8:00 p.m. From their first album “I Hate My Friends” to their latest album “Rose,” the band has evolved their pop punk influence throughout the years. Although tickets for this show are sold out, keeping an eye on the Mizzou Facebook page, where tickets are often resold last-minute, can be a great way to scrounge up a ticket. The band has a unique sound that will make the show a great time.
