Proud to announce that I have committed to North Carolina State. Thanks to all that have helped me along this journey. Go Wolfpack

Finucane had a strong freshman season for the Tigers. She earned First Team All-Southeastern Conference honors and was the SEC Freshman of the Year. The Maryland native had a productive sophomore season, but injuries limited her playing time in 2016.
The news of Finucane’s departure comes two weeks after [ace pitcher Paige Lowary’s announcement that she will transfer to Oklahoma](https://www.themaneater.com/stories/2016/7/15/ace-missouri-softball-pitcher-paige-lowary-transfe/). The Tigers now have only three pitchers on their 2017 roster.
Feeney was one of the Tigers’ top recruits from the high school class of 2016. [In April, he told The Maneater that he has touched 96 mph in games](https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=dalton%20feeney%20maneater).
After the news of Feeney’s decision to transfer, MLB.com writer Jim Callis tweeted that he sees the pitcher as having first-round draft potential.
Don't be surprised if @feeney2303 goes 1st rd as sophomore in 2018 @MLBDraft. Already up to 96 & promising brk stuff https://t.co/hYiQ4M4Czv

Feeney was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the 40th round of this year’s MLB First-Year Player Draft, but he did not sign.
